My own technique is to visualize a large crowd standing before me (as in a rock concert) and I am talking to them through a microphone with the speaker volume turned right up so that it is almost deafening. I am telling them about my books and stressing how helpful they will be to the reader. I point out the price is very cheap and that they are all available on Amazon Kindle.

I basically repeat this message over and over and visualize the audience being really interested and nodding their heads in agreement.
